Our Belated Halloween Post

Halloween didn’t go exactly as I had planned. We made it back from Blue Ridge in time to go trick or treating, got the kids ready to go and set off. Kian only wanted to go to a few houses, and by the 4th house he was over it. I convinced him to go to one more, but it was a big mistake. The guy who opened the door had on the scariest mask, and that just did it for Kian. He had enough, and ran to daddy telling him how scary the monster was! So unfortunately for me, we only snagged a handful of candy… but the kids looked adorable. My pebbles was moving around so much, that I wasn’t able to get a decent picture. I only caught some iphone pics:(

P.S

Kian’s costume was hand made using some fleece and felt, and an elastic band for the waistband. Super easy!

Bad Blogger

I’ve been such a bad blogger lately… Something I love so much has taken a back seat in my life. October is such a busy month for us, that I knew I would be posting much less. I definitely miss sitting behind my computer and sharing our days, but barely have time to even check my email. (see picture for proof)

What we’ve been up to:

vacationing, trick or treating, shoe shopping, laundry, napping, netflix-ing, lots of family time, long showers, and pretty much everything but getting online.

Some exciting news:

Frankie surprised me with a gym membership. This is one of those gifts that definitely could go wrong… he was brave… But I’m more than thrilled to be going back to the gym, and getting my work out on. Who will watch the kids is something we haven’t figured out yet… baby steps. :)

Miss you guys!

I love that I caught this moment… He told her, “never go into the street, it’s dangerous”

Thankful Thursday

  1. Our mini vaca in the North Georgia Mountains.

  2. The amazing weather up here.

  3. Frankie’s truck. It’s gotten us up and down really steep mountains that my car just couldn’t have.

  4. My health. Seriously, I know I take it for granted, but I’m so thankful that I get to wake up in a soft warm bed at home every morning and not a hospital bed, like many people do.

  5. Whole Foods. I stocked up on goodies before we left and the kids have been so excited to see all their usual snacks in our cabin fridge.

  6. Organic hot cocoa.

  7. iPad. I know I always attempt to stay “unplugged” but it’s nice to keep up with everything while the kids are sleeping.

  8. My husband. Something else I take for granted, but he’s so funny and relaxed, and I’m so anxious and not relaxed… It just balances things out.

  9. My new city flats from Gap. They’re almost as comfy as tennis shoes, but since I would never wear tennis shoes unless working out, they’re perfect.

  10. Atlanta. No matter how nice it is to get away, I love coming back to my home.

Good morning Blue Ridge:)

Good morning Blue Ridge:)

Ignore the cheesy grin… But every time I’m out with a sleepy baby, I wanna write the makers of Ergo a thank you letter. For making my life so much easier…

Quality Time

The kids are sleeping, our bags our packed. Tomorrow morning we leave to Blue Ridge, Ga to stay in a [nice] cabin for 5 days. We’re by no means roughing it, but it’s always nice to be so close to nature and away from city lights. I’m so excited for this mini vacation. Lots of time spent outside and Kian getting nice and dirty. S’mores, hot tubs, antique shopping, family… And the best part is we’re still in Georgia. I can’t handle long road trips with the kids so Kian is riding up with my sister and her boyfriend while Kayden rides with us.

My sister and her boyfriend Daniel are the perfect people to go on a trip with. Frankie and Daniel are really close and actually enjoy hanging out. It’s so nice to have this bond between the four of us. I can’t wait for all the vacations we’ll take together in the future with their future kids (can’t wait!) Kian is obsessed with D and it’s nice to have so many helping hands. (read this post for proof

I’ll miss you blog, but I’ll be back soon…

Now I Get It…

Last summer I made the mistake of going way lighter then my original hair color and getting a load of high lights. So sue me- I wanted to be a blonde… (blond? blonde?)

I was 7 months pregnant with Kayden and still living my “only one kid life.” The one where I could drop him off at grandmas and run to the salon or store alone. Enter Miss Kayden, attached to my boob since the minute she was born. Going on 16 months and still attached! So not much time for me to go to the salon. The highlights grew out and Frankie has been begging me to fix my hair. You know it’s bad when your hubby notices… So I bought a box of color and dyed it tonight. Let me just say, I’m not one of those people who can just dye my hair without some sort of disaster.

Exhibit B:

Now I get why most women seek professional help in times like this.

Thankfully, all my hair is still attached to my scalp and it’s all one color. All for a whopping $4.24. While my children were asleep in their cozy beds:)
